Waw Stories held two exciting launch events in August 2019 at the IHRC Book shop in Wembley, London.
We were bowled over by the huge attendance with so many children turning up to learn more about the ancient Islamic tale of Hajar’s (AS) desert struggle to save her infant son from death.
With skilful storytelling and fun Eid themed arts and crafts sessions from Waw Stories Founder Mariam Hakim, this beautiful retelling of this touching tale successfully had audiences of all ages captivated from start to end.
“It was a colourful and lively few hours of storytelling magic about a mother’s love and determination in the face of adversity”, said Mariam Hakim. “We covered themes of bravery, patience and faith during testing times. The children were able to connect with their spiritual heritage in a positive and uplifting way through this event. What a lovely way to launch!”
The event featured two crafts sessions, giveaways, promotions, goody bags and, of course, there was cake!
